This processor operates at a base frequency of 3.2 GHz with a TDP of 65 W and has a boost frequency of up to 3.6 GHz. In some simple words, it is a less overclockable friendly version of 1600X.
This processor supports the DDR4-2667 system memory. This CPU has 6 CPU core, 12 threads and 16 MB of L3 cache. This processor comes with a Wraith Spire (No LED) thermal solution and it lacks an integrated graphics card.

Ryzen 5 1600X is a mid-range 64-bit hexa-core performance x86 desktop processor. It was launched by AMD in 2017.
This processor is based on AMD’s Zen architecture. It has an AM4 socket. The 1600X operates at a base frequency of 3.6 GHz with a TDP of 95 W and a Boost frequency of up to 4 GHz.
The 1600X features 6 cores and 12 threads Like all Ryzen CPUs, the 1600X is unlocked. It lacks a thermal solution and as well as integrated graphics.

Both AMD Ryzen 5 1600 and 1600X were launched in Q1’2017. Both have AMD’s Zen microarchitecture. Between both the CPUs only clock speed is different, that is 1600X has higher clock speeds than 1600.
There is not much difference between the performance of both the CPUs as you can see in the above scores. And 1600X is still $20 more expensive than 1600.
